Pizza Express – Airport Kuwait

Always good to have, even though I had some hiccups in my last dine with them that disappointed me only because I always had high expectations in the team over there, would I excuse them saying it was Ramadan? NO, should I be understanding to the situation? YES.

Until today I thought PE was an American franchise, only today I read that “PizzaExpress is a chain of pizza restaurants based in the United Kingdom”.

The vegi soup that never came

Yea, I never got my soup, I placed the order over the phone to have my food ready at 6.30PM since I had to pick my sister in law from the airport, I ordered the soup too but I never got it, I only realized that when I went back home and saw the receipt, they charged me for it!!

Baked Mushrooms

I always have these at Pizza Express and every time I do, I say they are a bit pricy (2KD for 7 or 8 minis) but well it is worth the taste I guess.

Nicoise Salad

Whatever restaurant I see Nicoise on the menu I must order, maybe because of the blend of Tuna & Eggs, anyway, it is a classic deliciousness if you like tuna  (purrrrrr) but why this in particular? anchovies, where is my anchovies… the waiter said they ran out of it!, well why would you serve me a dish with a missing ingredient without prior notice then? I think the manager overheard and came to my table immediately saying that he will get it for me, he did, I am glad the man who runs the show knows how to handle customers :)

Nostrana Salad

Recommended by the waiter over the phone since I wanted 2 salads & not 1, it was a good salad, different sauce.

Baked Goat Cheese

Love it!, I just realized that things I love comes in small portions! :(

American Pizza

For my wife who is very much fussy & particular when it comes to food,

American Pizza

she loves pepperoni, I don’t know why, beef bacon tastes better than pepperoni

Quattro Stagioni

The 4 seasons pizza 1 ingredient on every quarter apart from the tomato (mushroom, olives, cheese & pepperoni), not my favorite but my wife wanted to have it, she realized later than it was not what she wanted (women) :P

All in all?

Ambiance: good (top floor at the airport)

Food: very good

Service: not as good as they usually are.

Value for money: Mid to High

You saved yourself the trouble.. their soup is awful and always not “fresh”. :( Pizza Express has gone downhill in recent years unfortunately. I used to like them, but think they can definitely do better, It’s also very embarrasing that for a company as big as they are, they haven’t renovated or refreshed their airport branch, because it looks tired and neglected. It’s not like they can’t afford it!!

haha, really, that bad ? I see your points, I was missing out on such details actually, renovation & such. let us hope they see this, the aim is definitely to voice out and improve customer experience
